Day 1: Arrive Colombo (CMB) – Negombo

On arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), you will be met and welcomed by a Representative and accompanied to your designated Vehicle. Thereafter leave for Negombo for the overnightstay.

Day 2: Negombo – Dambulla (148km)

After breakfast, proceed to Dambulla and make a visit to the cave temples. It’s a vast isolated rock mass 500 feet high and a mile around the base. Here is found the famous Rock Temple dating to the First Century B.C. The caves of Dambulla sheltered King Walagamba during his 14 years of exile from Anuradhapura. When he regained the throne, he built the most magnificent of Rock Templesto be found in the Island. Lunch at hotel and transfer to hotel check in.

Day 3: Dambulla – Sigiriya – Matale – Kandy

After breakfast, travel to Sigiriya, a “World Heritage Site” and the 5th Century “Fortressin the Sky” which is perhapsthe most fantastic single wonder of the Island. It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the Palace on the summit of the 600-foot-high rock. Thereafter leave for Kandy (72 kms – Approx. 2 hours’ drive). En-route make a stop at the Spice Gardens at Matale. Cooking Demonstration followed by Lunch at the Spice Garden. Proceed to Kandy city tour, Including upper lake drive & the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Here is the center of Buddhism, Arts, Crafts, Dancing, Music and Cultural. Visitors can see these dance and music at the daily cultural performances held at the several placesin the city including fire walking. Visit to Gem Shop, Silk Gardens & Wood Craving.

Day 4: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast, depart for Nuwara Eliya (78km – 2.30 hours), enroute make a stop at Ramboda Water Fallsfor a photo stop and the make a visit to a Tea Plantation and a tea factory. Sri Lanka is one of the highest producers of tea in the world. While visiting the plantation and learning the process of making the Tea to the finest quality drop in also purchase tea at your wish. Continue to the ‘Little England’ of Sri Lanka, is set against beautiful backdrops of Mountains, Valleys, Waterfalls and Tea Plantations. All around Nuwara Eliya you will see evidence of the British influence, houses like country cottages or Queen Ann style mansions.

Day 5: Nuwara Eliya – Ella – Yala

After breakfast, leave for Yala (160km – 4 hours). En route make a stop at Ella to visitthe 09 Arches bridge and make a stop at the Rawana Water Falls, being one of Sri Lanka’s widest waterfalls. Proceed to Yala National Park, you will embark yourself in to the 4 x 4 Vehicle in which will make it to the Wild-life sanctuary. This is famousfor its big herds and large number of Elephants, Leopards, Spotted Deer, Sambhur, Crocodiles, Mongoose, Wild Boar, Wild Buffalo, and many other animals. More than 130 bird species are recorded which includesthe resident and winter visitors.

Day 6: Yala – Galle

After breakfast, depart for Galle (160 kms – Approx. 2.30 hours). Make a stop at Weligama to witnessthe stilt fisherman in Sri Lanka. Stilt Fishing is a traditionalstyle of fishing practiced by local fishermen in Sri Lanka, with a perfect balance and an insurmountable amount of patience, fishermen perch themselves on cross-shaped beams and wait for their catch of the day! Upon arrival Galle, visit The Dutch Fort – oldest landmark is the massive Portuguese and Dutch Fort which is a “World Heritage Site” in which the central city is contained.

Day 7: Colombo

After breakfast, visit to Turtle Hatchery in Kosgoda, where you can see five species of turtles-Green Turtles (Chelonia mydas), Hawksbill Turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata), Loggerhead Turtle (Caretta caretta), Leatherback Turtle (Dermochelys coriacea) and Olive Ridley Turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea). The eggs collected by the Villagers and Fishermen are purchased by the Kosgoda Hatchery and kept in sandy pens until they are hatched. The newly hatched ones are kept in tanks and released to the sea in the night. This Hatchery alone has released more than 1,750,000 young turtles to the sea. Depart to Colombo and proceed to city tour, Portuguese, Dutch and British rule are found in every area of the city. Visit Fort, the former British administrative center and military garrison, Sea Street – the Goldsmith’s quarters in the heart of Pettah, the Bazaar area where there is also a Hindu Temple with elaborate stone carvings, the Kaymans Gate with the Belfry at the original gate to enter the Fort, the Dutch Church of Wolfendhaal dating back to 1749, Davatagaha Mosque, Colombo Museum and the Natural History Museum are some of the sites to be visited. Also visit the BMICH (Bandaranaik Memorial International Conference Hall), see the replica of Avukana Buddha and the Independence Square.
